5th Annual Kick Up Your Boots
Dec My Room kicked up some boots Friday, September 30, 2022, hosting its 5th annual Kick Up Your Boots for Kids at the House of Blues Houston. Multi-platinum country artist, Joe Nichols, lit up the stage after a live auction that took in over $90,000 by some of Houston’s most generous supporters. Overall, the night brought in over $310,000 for the charity to create healing places at five local Houston hospitals and 74 other hospitals around the country and internationally.

Dell Children's Kick Off
Dec My Room had a fantastic time kicking off at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, Texas on June 1st. A team of 10 volunteers decorated 8 patient rooms with themes from Spiderman and dinosaurs for a 6 year old, all the unicorns and princesses for a 3 year old and two 4 year olds (popular theme!), Honduran futbol, motorcycles and wrestling for a 17 year old, lady bugs for a 13 year old, Legos and Super Mario for a 10 year old! So fun to personalize each space!

Room to Grow 2022
After a two-year hiatus, the annual Room To Grow event took over the Neiman Marcus courtyard at NorthPark Centre with joyous energy. The attired matched the sentiment — bright neon, floral prints, and elegant heels filled the leafy space, dotted with elegant tables set for spring. Guests mingled, sipped a refreshing signature drink made with Mijenta tequila, and placed their bets on an expansive silent auction — which, naturally, included copious amounts of NorthPark gold.

Galentine's 2022
Dec My Room’s 15th Anniversary was kicked off in 2022 with our annual Let’s Do Lunch – a Galentine’s theme on February 10, 2022. The luncheon was held at Federal American Grill - Hedwig Village and was highlighted by pop-up shopping, courtesy of Lauren Craft Collection, The Pajama Princess, Kelly K Designs, Haute & Cool Chocolates and Out of the Box.

Room to Grow 2019
On Wednesday, April 17, Room To Grow Luncheon Co-Chairs Kristi Bare admitted that the night before she had had second thoughts about moving the Dec My Room fundraiser the next day. Originally scheduled at NorthPark’s Neiman Marcus Courtyard, they had heeded weather warnings and moved it indoor to the Center’s South Court.

All in the Family
The mother daughter duo of Susan and Kendall Plank are still very active and involved in all areas of Dec My Room. It holds their passion, and they love being able to see the direct impact their "one-time idea" has on both pediatric patients and their loved ones. They are very excited to be currently working on Dec My Room's largest annual fundraiser, Kick Up Your Boots for Kids, on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Redneck Country Club.

San Fran Sharks Event
What a great night at the Shark Tank! Dec My Room SF Bay Area chapter was the beneficiary of the the Sharks Foundation 50/50 raffle. $6,900 was raised to create healing places for kiddos in the hospital. Giant shout out to Debbie Cohen for her heroic work on the grant proposal, which gave Dec the opportunity to be at the game. Dec My Room volunteers showed up in force to sell raffle tickets: Lisa Teglia-Cole, Jess Teglia, Nancy Larsson, Debbie Burkholder, Tate Holt, Trish Stempel; along with Wendy Reese Christensen from UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital SF, and Romy Andrea, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. Y'all have mad raffle selling ticket skills -- and you crushed it!

Let's Do Lunch 2018
Nina Magon chaired our annual Let's Do Lunch event that drew a fashionable bunch of more than 100, who shopped, sipped bubbly and had their eyes on must-have fashions from Tootsies. There was pop-up shopping, courtesy of Switch2Pure, Dena Lyons Couture, Haute and Cool Chocolates and jewelry by designer Jude Frances. Nearly $60k was raised to fund decorating the hospital rooms of long-term pediatric patients.

Ladies Unique Tea, Los Angeles
On Sunday, October 7th our Los Angeles Chapter hosted a unique tea fundraiser set in a beautiful garden at a private home in Encino. The day was enhanced by the philanthropy of healers with various modalities who provided mini sessions for the guests. Elegantly decorated tables and catered delicacies were enjoyed by all, as well as a guest speaker from H2Life and a dream expert who spoke on the significance of sleep. A boutique of high-quality vendors added to the ambience of the afternoon.

Co-Chairs Kim Bannister, Jamie Singer and Andrea Weber, with NorthPark Center Co-Chairs Andrea Nayfa and Kristen Gibbins, were joined by more than 220 attendees at the second annual Room to Grow Luncheon and fashion show on Wednesday, April 18, at 11:00 a.m. at NorthPark Center in the Neiman Marcus Courtyard.

Kick Up Your Boots for Kids was held Wednesday, February 7 at the Redneck Country Club. A fashion show by Pinto Ranch kicked off the evening, followed by a concert by legendary Mark Chesnutt.

3-year-old shooting victim gets hospital room makeover
Anytime you hear of a child being in the hospital, it's heartbreaking, especially when they have to be there for weeks, even months. But an organization, fairly new to Cleveland, is now transforming hospital rooms for kids, making them over with all the characters and sports they love. Volunteers from Dec My Room have "dec’d" more than 75 rooms for kids at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital since 2016.
